Military Kardon

The Military Kardon can be identified by a metal plate on the back containing the military designation
and serial number. Military cameras lack the serial number on the top plate that the civilian models
have. In addtion, they have a large hollow wind knob, a screw in extension to the shutter release, a
little crank on the slow speed dial, and a gear to drive the focus on the side of the lens mount was
located toward the bottom of the camera.
There is mention in Jerome Katz's book of a few military Kardons with blank metal plates.

Civilian Kardon
This is the model that was sold to the general public. Serial number is on the top plate under the name.
Instances of cameras without serial numbers may be civilian cameras with military top plates.
